Itinerary
DAY 1: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK:
(2Hrs drive from Arusha town to Tarangire park.
At 7:30am meet your professional safari guide at your hotel lounge ready for safari. Load all your safari bags in the safari vehicle and depart for 2hrs journey drive to Tarangire Park, the drive takes us western circuit of Arusha town. Along the route, your eyes will be opened to all the colorful and characters of Tanzania landscape and mix of farming and local market perhaps some Maasai herdsmen driving their flocks of goats to new morning pastures.
The two hours’ drive gives opportunity to general information’s from your driver-guide with depth of knowledge as he professionally answers all your questions and you just realize Tarangire park gate is before you. Begin your game drive across a rich vista of endless golden savannah woodlands that surrounds the Tarangire River. The river itself runs throughout the year and is a vital source of water for the animals of the region for the whole season. Lined with acacia and Baobab trees, the river is regularly visited by the park’s large herds of elephant population as well as other herbivores such as zebras and antelopes. It is also the best predating sport for the predators to effortlessly get the kill.
Your guide will serve you with a picnic lunch either at the picnic site or somewhere under baobab or acacia tree, the choice is yours. After your lunch continue game driving through the park, you’ll also have the opportunity to see lions, leopards, cape buffalo, and a huge variety of antelopes. If you’re particularly lucky, you might even see endangered animals such as the Greater Kudu or the Fringe-Eared Oryx. After sunset drive to the lodge or campsite for dinner and Overnight
DAY 2: LAKE NATRON CULTURAL TOUR
After breakfast, pack all your bags in the safari vehicle and leave the lodge or campsite heading to the multicultural village of Mto wa Mbu neighboring Lake Manyara National Park. From here you will travel on a spectacular and very bumpy dusty gravel road along the Rift Valley Escarpment with credible view of Mt. Ol Doinyo Lengai referred by Masai as “mountain of god”.
The area around the lake Natron offers different attractions and activities such as a large number of volcanic implosion craters, numerous waterfalls and ravines with nesting places for Vultures. Among the most prominent attractions of Lake Natron is the Lengai Volcano Mountain, a 2,942 and the archeological site where archeologists the fossilized teeth of Australopithecus boisei was found, Swimming at the natural waterfalls cant be escaped, a visit to Maasai boma or a technical trek to the peak of Mt. Oldonyo Lengai
Arriving at the oasis shore of Lake Natron in the early afternoon, in a short distance you will notice a pink glow from thousands of flamingos breeding and feeding majestically on the algae of the alkaline Lake Natron, after this great view, your local Maasai guide will guide walk you to a nearby waterfall for refreshing swimming before you return to the Lodge or campsite for your dinner and overnight.
DAY 3: LAKE NATRON – NORTH SERENGETI PARK.
You may have never milked a cow traditionally, the normal daily chores of Masai people are milking their cattle at sunrise, this activity will be early before breakfast blended by visit to the bomas as they start the day, A visit to the traditional herbalist and much more worth this morning hours.
Back to the lodge or campsite for late breakfast then you will drive along adventurous dirt tracks with breath-taking views as your vehicle climbs out of the Rift Valley to reach the grassy plains of North Serengeti Park “endless plains” in the language of the Maasai and you will see the grassland savannah stretching to the horizon. The Serengeti is the most famous park in Tanzania and it is home to the largest animal migration on the planet – hundreds of thousands of animal’s treks to find fresh grass and water. You will overnight at a campsite or Lodge in the northern part of the park.
DAY 4: FULL DAY EXPLORE SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.
(From sunrise to sunset from 7am to 6pm, 10-12hrs full day game drive in Serengeti)
We start the day with an unforgettable sunrise game drive across thi beautiful plains of Serengeti watching the sun set fire to the savannah grassland as predators such as leopards and lions hunt for their morning breakfast meal. After sunrise game drive, you’ll return to your lodge for breakfast before departing with a packed lunch for a day long exploration of the park. This time round you will be on enroute game drive from the north to the central part of Serengeti, your driver will choose the best route to maximize your chances of seeing both the Wildebeest Migration and the Big Five, the hippopotamus pools. You’ll spot thousands upon thousands of animals in herds; wildebeests and zebras migrating together, tall and graceful giraffes, jumping antelopes and gazelles, the powerful African elephant and the most respected group of animals: the predators. You will have the chance to spot lean cheetahs and shy leopards, laughing hyenas, and last but not least, the king of the jungle himself; the lion. Sunset view will find few distance from your lodge or campsite in the center of Serengeti Park.
DAY 5: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – OVERNIGHT NGORONGORO
Your guide will always be ready for a very early pre-breakfast sunrise game drive, an optional for a hot air balloon flight can be arranged at an extra cost if you are interested. Just as the sunrise sparkle its bright lights in the wilderness giving you the first rays to watch cats predating as vultures swimming up in the air and other predators and grazers gathering for the morning green vegetation, The amazing wildebeest migration is an exceptional ultimate attraction that can’t be missed if season permits you.
This amazing crazy thorough game drive goes up to around 10am to exhaust all that is visible during sunrise. You will get back to the lodge or camp for late breakfast followed with few minutes rest before loading your bags in the safari jeep and set off again for another EN-ROUTE game view now on your way to the RIM of Ngorongoro Crater for overnight at the campsite or lodge.
DAY 6: NGORONGORO CRATER
(Wonderful 6-7hrs Game drive in Ngorongoro 1hr drive to the lodge or camp)
After early morning breakfast on the rim of Ngorongoro jump in your safari vehicle and hit the road for descend down Ngorongoro Crater. The descend is 610mitters deep down to the Caldera floor of Ngorongoro Crater; considered by some to be the Eighth Wonder of the World. When you get your first glimpse of this vast, verdant caldera from the panoramic viewpoint, you’ll soon understand why it has earned such a lofty reputation. Home to over 120 species of mammal including the fabled Big Five, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the most sought-after safari destinations in the world. It’s a particularly good place to see the endangered black rhinoceros enjoying a lonely meal out on the grass plains, as well as a place to see large numbers of hippopotamus enjoying the cool water not forgetting the pride of lions.
From the comfort of your open-pop up safari vehicle, you’ll be able to observe and photograph some of Africa’s most recognizable faces. The crater is home to a large number of predators including lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas, as well as a large population of wildebeest, zebras, antelope, cape buffalo, and more. It is truly one of Africa’s premier safari destinations.
After the thrills and excitement of the day, you will have a picnic lunch in the park. Late afternoon ascends up the wall of crater and drive to the Great Rift Valley wall for overnight at the Lodge or Camp.
DAY 7: LAKE MANYARA PARK GAME DRIVE
(6-8hrs for game drive and 2-3hrs drive to Arusha town or Kilimanjaro Airport)
Probably you may be anxious what this last day of game drive in Lake Manyara Park owe you. The park is truly the best photographer’s playground and offers some of the best game viewing in the world. You expect to see the unique Africa’s most well-known animals, the tree-climbing lions a particular treat in this park, these proud predators lounge in acacia trees, not forgetting the Masai and Reticulated giraffes practically begging to be photographed. The bird-watchers will find Lake Manyara the absolute delight, with a huge hundred’s variety of birds on display in the park. Even the novice can expect to be amazed by large greater and lesser flamingo flocks carpeted on the lake, circling birds of prey, and the brightly colored lilac breasted roller. The foot taste of the natural underground hot spring will wind up your game drive as you cross several hippopotamus pools before you check out of the park and drive your way back to Arusha. On a clear afternoon if the weather will permit, you will have the great view of Mt. Meru the second tallest Mountain in Tanzania before checking in at your hotel. END OF TRIP
